Contributions take a big hit amid uncertainty

The average level of contributions saw a dramatic drop in the September quarter, an indication of the influence of the previously proposed $500,000 lifetime cap, according to SuperConcepts.

The SuperConcepts SMSF Investment Patterns Survey shows that the average contribution inflow per fund for the quarter decreased from $10,750 to $3,040, the lowest contribution amount since the inception of the survey in 2007.
