President’s report: A promising year ahead

Last year was a time of rejuvenation for the IPA with a new name and brand. 2011 also saw the launch of one of our largest and most strategic advertising campaigns to support the Institute. This year looks set to be another exciting year for the IPA.

The support of members has helped to drive the success of the Institute. This year we will be further cementing our stake in the small business and small-to-medium practice space with some great initiatives which will be announced over the course of the year.

Our focus will be equally on developing practical and innovative offerings for members, and representing the IPA and its members on the national and global stage. We will maintain a focus on influencing policy-makers through our advocacy efforts,

by representing the high standard of IPA members through an increased media presence, and by becoming the voice for the profession and small business by presenting at major conferences.

Australian Accountants and Lawyers Conference 2012

In January, Andrew Conway represented the Institute at the influential Australian Accountants and Lawyers conference, which is held annually in Colorado in the United States.

As one of the keynote speakers, Andrew provided attendees with a valuable insight into current and emerging challenges for accountants and other professionals in navigating the fallout of the global financial crisis.

Andrew will be writing a paper based on the presentation he delivered at the Accountants and Lawyers conference.

It is events such as this that help to spread the IPA name and demonstrate the high quality of its membership.
