a story of opportunities lost

Mr. Billson’s presentation highlighted the importance of small business in a post-mining economy and the Coalition’s plans to respect and foster small business growth by committing to cutting over $1 billion dollars worth of red and green tape out of the economy.

“The driver of productivity, value and prosperity that is the engine room of our economy has been sadly quite neglected in recent years. And we [the Liberal party] want to change that. We want to change that not just because it is necessary but it is the right thing to do.

“Our ambition is bolder than that though: a renaissance in small business, in enterprise, to show that it is valued and supported and respected; a crucial part of our community. We want to create a more supportive eco-system where the environment and the landscape within which small business is operating is one that is supportive of their endeavours,” Mr. Billson said.
