Woolworths’ tilt into small supermarket space is a ‘kick in the guts’, ACCC told
The small business ombudsman has formally opposed Woolworths’ proposed acquisition of family-owned food service distributor PFD, arguing that it would have a detrimental impact on COVID-battered small businesses in the food distribution space.

The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, Kate Carnell, has written to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to oppose Woolworths’ proposed acquisition of a 65 per cent stake in PFD Food Services Pty Limited for $522 million.
