‘Unfair’ payment practices to SMEs attract scrutiny
The federal opposition has claimed that a formal investigation has begun into extended payment terms and ‘reverse-factoring’, a payment practice that it said unfairly burdens SMEs. But the terms of any such scrutiny are far less clear.

Late on Monday (30 September), the federal Labor Party issued a statement claiming that the ACCC has launched an investigation, at its behest, into extended payment times and so-called reverse-factoring being imposed onto Australian SMEs by corporate Australia.
