As political pressure grows, some small businesses are avoiding banks altogether.

Manuel Katakis was stuck between a rock and a hard place. His dream of opening a new burger store in Sydney had finally been realised, but clientele was slow during the winter months and he was struggling financially to keep the business ticking over. He had been open for barely a year when he began seeking out a small business loan.
