Bruce Billson recently announced his departure from federal politics, effective at the end of the current term.
“It has been an honour to have worked with Bruce Billson,” said IPA chief executive officer, Andrew Conway.
Mr Billson worked extensively with the IPA in delivering the Australian Small Business White Paper launched earlier in the year.
“Mr Billson has escalated the small business sector on the political agenda and I personally wish to thank him for his support to our small business advocacy efforts including the Australian Small Business White Paper we launched a few months ago,” said Mr Conway.
Mr Conway also acknowledged Mr Billson’s successor, Kelly O’Dwyer, and reiterated the importance of small business within the economy.
“While we look forward to working with the new small business minister, the Hon Kelly O’Dwyer, it would be remiss of the IPA to not pay tribute to the passion and drive Mr Billson brought to the portfolio,” he added.
“Small business holds the key to Australia’s future prosperity and this country needs more champions of the cause like Mr Billson,” Mr Conway concluded.
