At a special dinner at the IPA’s National Congress on the Gold Coast, President Damien Moore presented the member of the year award to Jamie Johns, chief executive and founder of Sky Accountants.
Mr Johns was recognised for his willingness to give back to the profession by sharing his knowledge and experience with other accountants.
“On average one accountant calls me each week and I am always more than happy to share what I have learnt that has given my life freedom,” said Mr Johns.
WA based firm Moroney & Associates clinched the practice of the year award, recognising the efforts of its principal Mitchell Moroney for his contribution to the profession by engaging with students at fairs and at TAFEs along with active participation in discussion groups.
“It’s a pleasure to acknowledge the efforts of members and their contribution to enhancing the reputation of the profession,” said IPA chief executive Andrew Conway.
“Both Jamie and Mitchell have been awarded for their efforts amongst a high calibre field around Australia.”
