Dually announced by the Prime Minister and Premier in Lismore on Friday, 28 October, the Northern Rivers Resilience Homes Fund package, a jointly funded Commonwealth and state government program valued at $800 million, will support residential home owners impacted by the devastating flooding in February and March of this year.
That flooding event stands as the equal costliest extreme weather event in Australian history.
The seven eligible local government areas covered by the new scheme are Ballina, Byron, Clarence Valley, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley, and Tweed.
