Financial institutions need to emulate the way well-known consumer brands like Apple focus relentlessly on the needs of their customers, according to a marketing consultant.

The standardisation of accounting data

The advice to start with customer needs and work backwards comes following the banking royal commission, which highlighted multiple examples where a financial institution’s profit focus led to customers receiving treatment that was poor or potentially illegal.
