British auditors may need to sign off a company's cyber defences, under reform proposals floated by the man charged with driving a comprehensive overhaul of Britain's audit industry.

Sir Donald Brydon made the radical proposal to a British parliamentary committee on Tuesday (AEDT), having just been named as the chair of a major new government-initiated root-and-branch review of audit practices.
