Accountants already failing on licensing processes, says tech heavyweight

Currently unlicensed accountants have run out of time to have in place the correct processes required from 1 July 2016.

David Smith, the founder of Smithink, informed accountants that accountants who have not acted will have run out of time to implement the processes and operations needed to provide compliant advice.

Mr Smith told SMSF Adviser that while accountants may already be providing the type of advice they intend to provide under the limited licence next year, the licence will require additional processes to be incorporated into the advice they currently provide, something which many accountants are not prepared for.
