Promoting the IPA’s policies
In February I had the opportunity to represent the IPA and its members as part of an expert panel of industry leaders at the SPAA (SMSF Professional Association of Australia) National Conference in Sydney. With 1200 participants, it was a great opportunity to voice the views of the accounting profession, especially on what 2012 has in store for policy development affecting the interests of members.
I was invited to appear on Switzer, a Sky Business News program presented by renowned finance journalist Peter Switzer. The focus of the interview was on the recommendations put forward to Government through our pre-Budget submission. If you would like to watch the interview please visit www.switzer.com.au.
Advocacy to government
As part of our activities prior to the Federal Budget, the IPA met with relevant government ministers in Canberra to draw attention to our pre-Budget recommendations. Advocacy is an integral part of the IPA’s work and we continue to undertake regular visits to Parliamentarians from all political parties, senior bureaucrats and regulators. If you would like to provide feedback on submissions please refer to Technical Advantage for upcoming opportunities or write directly to the IPA.
